A. J. Rogers
A. J. Rogers was born the youngest of four in Washington DC. By age two his mother and father moved the family to the Ohio Amish countryside. There were many religious influences, Catholic, Baptist, Mennonite, Methodist, and others, surrounded by the Amish majority living on the rolling, forested, hilly countryside accented by horse and buggy farm community. The outdoors were a recipe for adventure. Tromping around woods for whatever wildlife you could find, fishing the creeks and ponds, biking the dirt roads, playing basebal…. However, in those early years. A. J. was a shy, quiet kid, and kept to himself, which drew the attention of his 1st grade teacher, Mrs. Yoder, an elderly Mennonite lady, and a member of the English Chapter of the Shakespearian Society. She spent the year mentoring him on mathmatics, and communicating with him, - doing her best build his self esteem and confidence, to be a positive role model in his life. She was that teacher. Eventually making a request to him, "I want you to make me a promise... I want you to promise me to someday write a book..." A promise he didn't begin to keep until decades later. His first works began in 2007 and were poetry, Collage Conundrum, An Assemblage of Problems and Riddles Creating Anew, - written out of teenage memories, and more recent off the cuff inspirations. The poetry forms include prose, verse, and blank verse. In 2014 he began writing science fiction. By 2018 he was a self taught organic author. In that same year he took an acting class and rediscovered singing, - something he had not done since age 7. This inspired: God Save the Kings, Out of Nowhere, an autobiographical WIP. The title is based on heritage, talents, and relative influences. His first science fiction book: Drone Life, drone life, Endorsements of Barren Wildernesses, is a dystopian story available on Kindle, and is being released as part of a series. His second book: Island of Atlantis, Time of the Giants, is avaiable on Kindle Vella.
